Here’s a look at what’s on in the Lake District July 2019. The summer will soon be upon us, with plenty of things to see and do. Derwentwater Regatta – 6th and 7th July 2019
Although Lake Windermere will continue to be as busy as ever, there are also one-off events elsewhere. Derwentwater hosts it’s annual regatta early June, featuring canoeing and kayaking as well as a special dragon boat race.
MacMillan Mighty Hike – 13th July 2019
One of 2 major events taking place in the Lake District, July 2019 in aid of cancer charities. This hike starts from Dalemain Mansion and costs £25, with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Race for Life – 14th July 2019
The Race for Life events quite literally run up and down the country. Raising awareness and money for breast cancer research in another extremely worthwhile charity fundraiser.
Summer Beer Festival – 18th to 20th July
What better way to treat yourself during a package break in the Lake District than sampling some of the local ale. The summer beer festival is when the Hawkshead Brewery opens its doors to the public.
Penrith Show – 20th July 2019
The Penrith Agricultural Society held their first show back in 1834. It’s been a regular occurrence when looking at what’s on in the Lake District in July ever since. Combining long-standing traditions and showcasing rural life to its fullest.
Coniston Country Fair – 21st July 2019
It’s a busy time for country fairs in the Lake District during July, with another of the annual events being held at nearby Coniston. Again combining traditional arena displays with the annual cross-country fell race, along with a variety of market stalls.
Ambleside Sports – 25th July 2019
Just as you’d expect from the name, Ambleside Sports is one for those who like to take part in summer sports. After some Westmorland Wrestling, you’ll certainly be in need of your spa suite and hot tub. Although, don’t worry participation isn’t compulsory. So just sit back and relax, after all, you’re on a spa package break in the Lake District.
Kendal Calling – 25th to 28th July 2019
If you’d rather camp out in a field than stay at a spa hotel, then tickets are currently still available for Kendal Calling. This year headliners include the Manic Street Preachers, Nile Rogers and Chic, along with special guest Tom Jones.
