If you’re among the 1000’s of holidaymakers that didn’t manage to get away this summer, and an Autumn spa break could be the next best thing. It’s no secret many of us have struggled to book a holiday abroad this year, or even had to cancel at the last minute.
Such is the knock-on effect of the recent lockdown and ongoing pandemic. Alas, that shouldn’t result in having to miss out altogether! Here at the Aphrodites Boutique Suites we have remained vigilant throughout the past 18 months and have loved the return of so many guests. We can also say with confidence that any additional measures we’ve put in place have put our visitors at ease. Without impacting on the overall ambience of a spa holiday in the Lake District.
Things to do this Autumn in the Lake District
The Autumnal weather between late September, October and November sets the Lake District apart from many other holiday destinations. After all, the Lakes are one of the biggest tourist destinations in the UK during the summer. Yet it’s the change in season that results in many of our guests returning year on year.
The wash of colour upon an array of trees aligning the water make for an idyllic backdrop. Especially when it comes to long walks across the countryside. Likewise, if you’re taking a mountain bike for a ride or driving to a secluded picnic spot overlooking the lakes.
Although it’s not just romantic sunsets and early morning hikes, many of the local tourist attractions remain open all year. Whether that be the indoor activities such as Wray Castle or seeing what’s on at the arts and craft house of Blackwell.
Then, of course, there are annual events. Including the Wasdale Head Show and Shepherd’s meet for a taste of country life. Alternatively, how about a night of comedy with Omid Djalili (3rd November) or punk legends the Skids a couple of days later? (5th November).

Although please note these dates are often snapped up by eager guests, longing for a last-minute staycation. As an example, last week we were able to free up a number of overnight stays, complete with bed and breakfast for the first half of October.
At the point of writing, only a couple of dates remain available. As such, we’re due to announce more for the last week of October/early September imminently.
